Autumn approaches - Wines to celebrate the end of Summer
Orange (2 of each)
PATRICK SULLIVAN, VICTORIA - 2018 HAGGIS
50% Moscato Giallo, 50% Sauvignon Blanc. A good whack of skin contact leaves the wine definitively orange in colour. This is textural, grippy wine with honeydew, orange rind and some sweetness to open which is then offset by a savoury finish – complex and accomplished.
White (2 of each)
JUDITH BECK, NORTHERN BURGENLAND - 2018 WEISSBURGUNDER
100% Weissburgunder. Brilliant pale gold-yellow in the glass. The wine has refreshing aromas of citrus, pears and white peaches. The palate is full-bodied and well-structured with balanced fruit and acidity, a long finish and good ageing potential.
DOMAINE DES VIGNEAUX, ARDECHE - 2018 VDF VIOGNIER
100% Viognier. Rich golden Viognier with striking nose of dry sherry, honey and walnuts underneath the fragrant apple blossom.

ELGIN RIDGE, ELGIN VALLEY - 2014 282 PINOT NOIR
100% Pinot Noir. A rich garnet in colour the nose has aromas of sweet dark cherries, earth, roasted cocoa beans and floral notes. The palate has flavours of black cherries, summer fruits, a rich texture, good acidity and a long finish.
DOMAINE CHARAVIN, SOUTHERN RHONE - 2015 RASTEAU
60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre. A delicious wine with an expansive nose of roasted currants, warm meat and fresh coffee beans with a good slew of spice and mineral. Develops in the glass to reveal fruits macerated in port, the mouth is enhanced and filled with flavours of plums and tobacco, the tannins are round and the whole experience is completed by a waft of secondary gamey aromas.
ARIANNE OCCHIPINTI, SICILY - 2018 SP68 ROSSO
70% Frappato, 30% Nero d’Avola. Ruby red in the glass, the nose has intense aromas of red fruit, Mediterranean herbs and spices. The palate is fresh and soft with good acidity, sweet tannins and a good length.
