A LOS VINETEROS BRAVOS, ITATA - 2018 PIPENO BLANCO
Field blend; mainly Moscatel but also other grapes such as Corinto. Gentle wild and aromatic this is simple country wine from ancient, untreated, dry-farmed bush vines in the volcanic Itata Valley.
CELLER CREDO, PENEDES - 2017 ALOERS
100% Xarel-lo. The freshest, most genuine expression of the Mediterranean Xarel·lo grown on calcareous soils. The wine is light-medium bodied with great vivacity and apple-rind and citrus flavours.
LE MARNE, GAVI - 2017 ORO
100% Cortese. The wine's aromas of white fruit, stone fruit and lime zest are immediately beguiling and followed by a subtle yet persistent bouquet of green apples. The palate is well balanced with a fresh acidity and good structure. Pleasant almond notes linger on the finish.
Reds (2 of each)
BODEGAS AROA, NAVARRA - 2018 TINTO
100% Garnacha Tinto. Modern style Garnacha with clean rounded red fruits. Fermented in stainless steel and vinified without sulphur this is a very fruity expression of Garnacha with lifted aromatic and ripe strawberry fruit-and pepper.
BAPTISTE COUSIN, ANJOU - 2017 DYNAMITAGE
100% Gamay. Fresh with blue and red fruits, violets and earl grey tea. Has a little natural funk but still clean.
AA CAPARSA, CHIANTI - 2017 ROSSO DI CAPARSA
100% Sangiovese. Purple-freighted-fruited junior Chianti (a field blend of Sangiovese and some ameliorating white grapes). A honest wine that merits the epithet rustic but is so much more being packed with blackberries and sweet currants and loads of wild herbs.
