Wine is bottle poetry, and these are the new entries to our wine rack stanza 🍷

Whites

Antonio Camillo Vermentino, Toscana, Italy
100% Vermentino
This a simple, highly agreeable Vermentino. A little splash of lime and easy buttery mid-palate fruit with a pinch of dried herbs at the end.
Pairing: White meats, risotto & seafood based spaghetti, baked fish dishes

Domaine Ogereau L’Enjouee Blanc, Saint Lambert Du Lattay, Anjou
100% Chenin
On the nose, a burst of fruit, with notes of citrus zest. A tender, fresh and salivating mouth.
Pairing: Drink chilled, as an aperitif with cheese or spicy food

Reds

Pearl Mountain Flight Of The Drongo, Paarl, South Africa
100% Grenache Noir
Pearl Mountain's first natural wine. “Natural” means different things to different people. For us, it means using only organically grown grapes and sometimes a minimal amount of sulfur before bottling. Deliciously flavorful, lighter natural red wine that showcases wild strawberries and confit red bramble fruit, notes of fynbos and a certain saline freshness from the granitic soils. This is an all-occasion wine. Let it breathe for 10 minutes after opening if you can wait that long.
Pairing: Charcuterie and cheese.

Marto Wein Manna Rot, Rheinhessen, Germany
40% Portugieser, 45% Scheurebe, 15% Riesling
The (bright) red answer to the already legendary Marto Weiss. A cuvée from Portugieser & Scheurebe, grown on heavy clay and limestone soil. Impetuous nose of red currants, paired with rosehip, physalis and blood orange, light ethereal impact. A tart, crisp texture on the palate, wiry body with refreshing acidity, green herbal notes (lemon balm), the tannins are somewhat rough, minimal touch of yeast with delicate brioche. Expressive! Drink chilled.
Pairing: Simple burger.

I Parieti Tataranne Primitivo, Puglia, Italy
100% Primitivo
This wine showcases red fruits, earthy with floral notes and spices creating a wine that has great structure and full-bodied.
Pairing: Veal sausages, Tiella di Agnello (lamb stew with onions and potatoes), orecchiette al sugo (with tomato sauce).

Madlieri Saperavi Mtsvane, Kakheti, Georgia
80% Saperavi, 20% Mtsvane
Made using the traditinal Qvevri this blend of red saperavi and white mtsvane has a deep colour typical of the inky Saperavi grape complimented by the aromatic care of the Mtsvane, with lots of concentrated hedgerow fruits and a bright, velvety texture, flavours of blueberries and dark currants with a hint of bitter chocolate, balanced palate with a light weave of tannin. Destemmed and made with shorter qvevri macerations over five to six months, this is a (relatively) friendly introduction to Georgia’s intense red wines.
Pairing: roasted lamb and pork skewers, hard cheeses, ragout and oyster mushrooms.
