Ain't no time to fool around - Man I gotta hit this wine tonight, to feel alright
6 mixed bottles - £110.00
Sepp Muster, Opok White - Leutschach, Styria, Austria 450-470 metres
Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Welschriesling & Gelber Muskateller – Biodynamic Certified
Opok refers to the particularities of the soil in this part of Styria which is compact and marly. This wine is not so much aromatic as mineral with sea-shell purity. It fills the mouth whilst retaining a stoniness and just a hint of reductive smokiness.
La Cave du Vin Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle, Valle d’Aosta “Rayon“ - Valle d’Aosta, the slopes of Mont Blanc 1300 metres
100% Prié Blanc
Its aromas evoke mountain herbs with notes of fresh hay. Further notes of lemon, almond apple and peach also fight for attention on the nose. The palate tracks these aromas but the crisp acidity is balanced with intense flavours. The finish is persistent with lingering flavours of pear and citrus.
Bodegas Honorio Rubio, Viura Macerado Edicion Limitada - Cordovín, La Rioja Alta, Spain 650 metres
Quite delicate for a “light orange” wine, nice freshness and texture and a fine line of acidity.
PolOpuesto wines, Mala Hierba - Mendoza, Argentina 1100m metres
Whole-bunch and foot-stomped, natural ferment in small plastic vats. Maturation for 11 months in used 225L French barrels with no fining or filtration. Dark, inky colour with bright, vivid aromas of fig, cherry, blueberry and cassis. On the palate, dark fruits are framed by punchy, energetic acidity.
Chateau Musar, Hochar Rouge - Bekaa Valley, Lebanon 1000 metres
Cinsault, Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon
Bright ruby red in colour with red fruits, plums, sloes and cherries on the nose and palate. This balanced and elegant wine combines vibrant fruit on a medium body with soft tannins and good acidity.
Pago Traslanzas, Cigales - Mucientes, Valladolid 800 metres 100% Tempranillo
A deep red layer with garnet hints. Its aromas are very complex, powerful and elegant, dominated by aromas of ripe, black fruits and liquorice. Secondary aromas of wild flowers such as lavender, clove, cedar, balsamic and eucalyptus come from the oak of the barrels. In the mouth is a wine of remarkable body, balanced, with sweet tannins from the skin, with a great length and a persistent finish!
