Frentano, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, 2018 - Abruzzo, Italy
100% Montepulciano. Plum-skin fruit allied to leathery warmth with an all-over chocolate finish. Montepulciano that is not afraid to be big and bold.
Ciu Ciu, Bacchus Rosso 2019 - Marche, Italy
Montepulciano and Sangiovese. Delightful nose of strawberry, morello cherry and liquorice root. The wine has an uncomplicated juiciness that begs for a second and third glass. It can even be merrily chilled.
Cantina Tollo, Madregale, 2019 - Abruzzo, Italy
Montepulciano & Sangiovese. Pale cranberry red colour, attractive nose of dried cherries and tea-rose, fresh and lively in the mouth with good acidity and a pleasant herbal edge.
Caleo, Salice Salentino, 2018 - Puglia, Italy
Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera de Lecce. Boasts thick, aromatic layers of black fruit, prune, sweet balsamic, liquorice and well integrated toast notes. It's a high intensity wine, with a brawny build and bright acidity.
Cantina di Venosa, Vignali Rosso, 2018 – Basilicata, Italy
100% Aglianico. This is a modern and well-structured wine which is full of juicy fruits. It has a deep red colour and a cherry and raspberry bouquet. This is very good quaffing wine.
Cantina Rallo, Ciello Rosso, 2019 - Sicily, Italy
100% Nero d’Avola. Classic Nero d’Avola flavours of dark almost roasted fruits – think black cherries and red and dark plums. There’s some liquorice and then the finish hints at coffee and bitter chocolate
