“I’ll flamin’ well DRINK ya!”
Whites (2 bottles of each)
M & A Arndorfer, Vorgeschmack White – Austria
80% Grüner Veltliner, 20% Riesling
This is a dry white with green pear, yellow apple, peach, flowers and white pepper aromas and flavours. Fresh, mineral, gently aromatic and incredibly easy drinking.
Domaine de la Mirande, Picpoul de Pinet AOP – France
This is a deliciously understated wine, a touch of savoury brininess, a hint of white flowers, and before you know it, the contents of the bottle have disappeared into history.
Reds (2 bottles of each)
Bodega Classica, Rioja Montesc - Spain
All the silky softness you would expect from a Crianza but much juicier and with more red fruit flavour. A perfect introduction to the reds from Rioja.
Les Vignerons d’Estezargues, Cuvee Des Galets Rouge – France
Grenache (50%), Syrah (25%), Carignan (25%)
Very juicy with a soft, slightly cloudy purple colour and gentle flavours of blackberry, liquorice, pepper and nutmeg.
Rosé (2 bottles)
Moulin de Gassac, Reserve de Gassac Rosé – France
40% Grenache, 40% Carignan, 20% Syrah
Full and round with aromas of crushed red fruit. Pleasant, intense palate with hints of strawberry.
Sparkling (2 bottles)
Cantina Bernardi, Prosecco Frizzante Colli Trevigiani – Italy
Delicious, easy drinking lightly sparkling style of Prosecco with a mischievous sapidity as an Italian might say. The nose suggests blanched almonds, white flowers and pear skin; the palate is soft and clean with apple and quince fruit flavours with a naturally off-dry finish.
