Sparkling (1 bottle of each)
Cantina Vini Armani, Casa Belfi Bianco, 2019 – Veneto, Italy
100% Glera. The wine is light bodied, bone-dry and, without filtering or clarification, as hazy as a blizzard in a snow globe. Straw yellow with greenish hues, it has fine and persistent bubbles and flowery and fruity scents accompanied by notes of citrus, yeast and baked bread.
Fuchs und Hase, Pet Nat Volume 4, 2018 – Kamptal, Austria
100% Riesling. On the nose it is restrained with aromas of ripe apples, stone fruit and dried fruit; extra dry on the palate, slightly astringent.
Whites (1 bottle of each)
MA Arndorfer, Handcrafted Riesling, 2019 – Kamptal, Austria
100% Riesling. Straw yellow with hints of fresh herbs, delicate citrus tones, notes of green apple and white pepper on the nose. The palate is mineral, pure and delicate with a vibrant freshness.
San Lorenzo, Marche Bianco – Marche, Italy
100% Verdicchio. brilliant expression of Verdicchio. Although spending a shorter time on the lees than the other wines the Gino has plenty of buttery mouthfeel, pear fruit and white pepper.
Martha Stoumen, Post Flirtation White, 2019 – Caifornia, USA
33% Colombard, 26% Marsanne, 23% Roussanne, 18% Muscat blanc. This mineral driven wine gives off aromas of fresh ocean air, white pepper and kiwi. A beautifully light body that complements a variety of foods from Dim Sum to oysters.
AA Caravaglio, Chianu Cruci, 2018 – Salina, Italy
80% Malvasia, 20% other local varieties such as Catarratto and Grillo. Golden and bright, a variety of aromas emerge from this wine: yellow flowers (chamomile), fine herbs (basil, rosemary, lesser calamint), followed by ripe yellow-pulp fruit (loquat, mango). This is a tangy wine with a long persistence in the mouth.
Pink (1 bottle of each)
Domaine Judith Beck, Pink, 2019 – Burgenland, Austria
80% Zweigelt & 20% Blaufränkisch. the wine has a fruity aroma dominated by cherries, peaches and raspberries. The palate is refreshing with pleasant acidity, tones of raspberries and strawberries which complement the notes of
citrus and fine spice.
Reds (1 bottle of each)
Domaine Botheland, Beaujolais Villages Premices, 2019 – Beaujolais, France
100% Gamay. The lightness and elegance of this wine is balanced with a healthy dose of minerality and
complexity that, along with its beautiful bright fruit and mineral tension, make this one for serious gamay drinkers.
Domaine Plaisance, Serr da Beg, 2018 – Fronton, France
100% Negrette. Explosive nose with dark fruits, exotic oriental spices, soy and pepper. Ample mouthfeel, dense
and packed with fruit and powerful yet refined tannins.
Vina Ilusion, Rioja Tinto, 2019 – Rioja, Spain
85% Tempranillo, 10% Garnacha, 5% Graciano. Deep red in the glass with a purple hue. Perfumed aromas of raspberries, redcurrants, black pepper and liquorice. The palate is mineral and smooth with subtle flavours of cassis and summer red fruits leading to a spicy finish.
Hacienda Grimon, Rioja Tempranillo, 2019 – Rioja, Spain
100% Tempranillo. Youthful sin crianza style (made without oak-ageing) this is pure expression of the Tempranillo with aromas of red cherries, and a touch of citrus. The palate is silky, marked by the aroma of red fruit and medium
weight. The wine has a long finish with good balanced acidity, fruit and soft tannins. Can be drunk lightly chilled.
Celler Batlliu de Sort, Biu de Sort Negre Finca Barrero, 2019 – Sort, Spain
100% Pinot Noir. Delicious and very pretty Pinot Noir from high vineyards. A low intervention wine that captures the subtle fragrances of the variety - cherry blossom, raspberry and a touch of fennel, salty-fresh palate..
