Julien Guillot produces some of the finest wines in the Macon. His 7 hectares in Cruzille has been organic since 1954 and biodynamic since 1998. There was a wine producing Benedictine monastery on the site in the 10th century, and, a thousand years previous to that, the Romans planted the first vines here. So the soil has wine in its DNA. The minerality of these wines is spectacular, with the chalky terroir being a continuation of the Cote Chalonnaise to the north.   

The winemaking is a precise form of minimal intervention, with semi carbonic for the reds, and aging in old oak with extended elevages. No additions are used in the winemaking process, yet the wines are consistently clean and stable. They express a soulfulness and energy that we absolutely love, and are rightfully sought after. We have a tiny amount of these wonderful wines available to sell each year, so we are especially excited to offer this parcel at a very reasonable price.  

MACON ROUGE, CUVEE 910, 2022, 13% 
Gamay, Pinot Noir & Chardonnay 
The wine pays homage to the original vines planted by the monks of Cluny more than 1,100 years ago, it's a field blend of grapes subsequently co-fermented. Beautifully understated, fresh, tonic with great verve, aromatic red fruits and minerals intertwined. Try with Ginuea fowl!  

LES CRAYS, BOURGOGNE PINOT NOIR, 2022, 12.5%
100% Pinot Noir
Floral and fresh red berry aroma with mineral tones and hints of spice. The palate is medium bodied and fresh, with chalky tannins and medium-high acidity. A beautiful and expressive Pinot.

MEGAMIX, NV, 13.5%  
Muscat, Gamay & Pinot Noir
A wine that is both supple and round. Light and aromatic. A very floral approach with notes of fresh grapes and red berries.
