From 115 year old vines on the foothills of Mt Granier. 18 months on the lees, with full malo. The first impression is of a honeyed character. The nose reveals gunflint, civet, dried fruit and candied orange, beeswax and hay.

The flavours are reminiscent of pear, gingerbread, spice and honey with a touch of nougat and the mouthfeel is soft, mellow and off dry. This would be splendid with river fish such as pike or perch, or veal escalope, or even the local Beaufort cheese.

CAVE DU MONT BLANC, VIN BLANC DE MORGEX ET DE LA SALLE, VALLE D'AOSTA, ITALY, 2022
100% Prié Blanc 
The vines are cultivated at 1200m on the slopes of Mont Blanc, in the westernmost part of the Valle d'Aosta. Prié Blanc is the only indigenous grape of the area and is unliquely adapted to deal with the extreme growing conditions. Grapes are sometimes picked with snow on the vines! The wine is delicate, minerals laden with hints of exotic fruits.
