100% Cabernet Franc
An incredible wine- for lovers of Cabernet Franc at its savoury, expressive best. Blackcurrant leaf, jalapeno, and a variety of black fruits dominate, with some earthy forest floor crunch. It’s precise and delicious- and made with no added sulphites. Biodynamic.
Clos de Gamot, Cahors, 2020, SW France, 13.5%
100% Malbec (known locally as Auxerrois)
This is a supremely elegant Cahors, the Malbec is only gently extracted and aged in huge old oak barrels. It is herbal and spicy rather than rich and hearty. Expect notes of fresh tea, liqourice and cherry. Made from vines between 40- 120 years old.
Les Foulards Rouges, Les Vilains, 2021, Languedoc- Rousillon, France, 12%
70% Carignan 30% Grenache
This mainly old vines Carignan is brimming with red and blackcurrant, sloes and seasoned with pepper and spice and finishing with meaty/umami notes. The palate is bouncy, angular and fresh with blue fruit vibrancy and reveals secondary notes of clove, musk and roasted Provençal herbs.
Goisot, Aligote, 2022, Cotes d’Auxerre, Northern Burgundy, France, 12.5%
Notes of wet stone and ripe lemon lead to fleshy pear fruit, with a twist of apple blossom on the nose. Lees aging and malolactic provide a touch of weight without new oak. This wine is all about poise. Delicious white burgundy! Biodynamic
Roc Des Anges Alquimia, Vin de Voile, NV, Cotes Catalans, France, 14%
Grenache Gris and Macabeu (aged under flor -sous voile- not topped up)
Aromas of hazelnut, stone and toast, open up to a palate of complex, layered citrus fruit. This wine is aged for 2 to 3 years in 228L Burgundy barrels that aren’t topped up (sous voile). A portion of the wine is aged under flor (the naturally occurring yeast that gives Fino sherry its character). The wine is fascinating and beautiful. Biodynamic
Domaine Les Hautes Terres, Les Autres Terres Blanc, 2022, Roquetaillade, nr Limoux, France, 12.5%
The nose exhibits aromas of fresh fruits and flowers. The palate is round and fruity but without heaviness, this cuvée is a beautiful southern interpretation of Chardonnay with a long finish. No oak influence.
