6 Bottle Case (1 x of each)
Lo-Fi Cabernet Franc Clos Mullet 2020
100% Cabernet Franc
Smells like Cabernet Franc, tastes like Cab Franc. Juicy dark fruit – cherries and blueberries - good weight on the palate but still agile – fresh berry fruit with notes of oregano and pepper.
Pairing: Slightly chilled this would go well with tuna or salmon grilled on the barbecue,
otherwise with cumin-spiced lamb dishes, tagines etc
Idlewild The Bird Flora Fauna Red 2021
60% Dolcetto, 35% Barbera, 5% Nebbiolo
Black cherries, wild strawberries, dried herbs, roses, fresh soil, and a touch of orange peel make up the aromatic profile. The mouth feel is a joyful inter-play of brightness with just enough chewy bass notes before the seriousness kicks in with a firm acid and tannin balance on the finish.
Pairing:salumi, pizza or pasta (especially with a white base), also more exotic spices like Indian or Moroccan as long as they aren’t spicy.
Martha Stoumen Post Flirtation 2020
33% Colombard, 26% Marsanne, 23% Roussanne, 18% Muscat blanc
This mineral driven wine gives off aromas of fresh ocean air, white pepper and kiwi. A beautifully light body that complements a variety of foods from Dim Sum to oysters. At only 9.5% alcohol, this one is great from brunch to aperitif to dinner and after. Take me anywhere!
Pairing: Enjoy with citrusy fennel salad with herbs, delicata squash sprinkled with pistachio and pomegranate, glazed turnips, anything a little salty.
Ovum Keeper Of The Flame Gewurztraminer 2020
The 2020 offering is particularly unusual for it's dominant blood orange aromatics, and length of minerality on the palate. Yes, somehow this Gewurz shows gobs of minerality.
Pairing:Ideal with sushi, tempura vegetables or classic Alsatian cuisine
Kelley Fox Nerthus 2021
50% Pinot Gris, 30% Early Muscat, 20% White Riesling
The Nerthus has a delightfully bright pink colour with hints of salmon and fuschia and brilliant transparency. It’s visually very pleasing. The nose is full of fresh peach and apricot (stone-fruit) notes with floral and mineral notes. Though bone dry, there is mouth-watering peach and apricot fruit that is carried nicely by the racy acidity. This alpine-fresh wine is a real joybringer.
Ruth Lewandowski Rose 2021
Touriga Nacional, Souzao, Tinta Roriz in (roughly) thirds. The 2021 vintage, due to frighteningly low yields, contains a bit of Bastardo (Trousseau) - 2%, direct pressed zinfandel (8%) and skin contact Sauvignon Blanc 10%.
Garnet in the glass with purple hues. The nose has aromas of red and black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry strawberry and raspberry) and vegetal notes. The palate is lively and very fruity with supple tannins. The finish is fruity, floral and mineral. Concentrated and balanced.
Pairing: Can be enjoyed with a wide array of dishes. A quality smash burger with ‘real’ American cheese, waffle fries (avec ‘sauce Americaine’) might be the perfect companion.
